Sewing Classes

Julie Red Projects offer mixed classes for all sewing skill levels – from complete beginner to advanced.
In Term 4 (October – December) we’ll be running these sessions:

– Sew Good (beginner course) – Saturdays 10am – 1pm
– Sew Much Better (intermediate course) – Wednesdays 12 – 3pm
– Sew On & Sew On: Choose your own projects (intermediate level) – Wednesdays 12 – 3pm
– Sewcial Sewing Sessions – Mondays 12 – 4pm OR Fridays 9 – 1pm

– After School Kids Sewing Classes (aged 10-14yrs)
Thursday afternoons 4pm – 6pm

Most classes are 3 hours in length and run as 8 or 9 week courses across school terms or as one-off workshops. If you only need a class every now and again you can attend on a casual basis (subject to availability)

Classes are small and friendly, with 4 to 6 participants. All sewing machines and equipment are provided and there’s a library of books about fashion and textiles to inspire you. Classes are fun and roll out in a relaxed, informal manner… so there’s plenty of time for a cup of tea and a chat.

If you’re a beginner you can start with the basics outlined below in the SEW GOOD course, sewing through the projects at your own pace. Students with a bit more experience can choose from beginner or intermediate projects in SEW MUCH BETTER. More confident students can choose their own projects in the SEW ON & SEW ON classes.

All classes aren’t offered every term, they run when there’s demand.
